Dep. Brief
The Department of Fiqh and its Foundations is one of the departments within the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Anbar. It was established in 2005–2006, the same year the College of Islamic Sciences was opened at the University of Anbar. The Department of Fiqh and its Foundations is considered one of the most vital scientific departments in this College, as it works to develop students' talents and abilities in Fiqh and its Foundations, keeping pace with the development of the science of Fiqh, and addressing the novel issues that arise in people’s daily lives in various fields. The Department has adopted the approach of rooting (Ta'seel) jurisprudential issues and then applying (Tanzil) them to contemporary incidents, provided the issues are equivalent to their counterparts in terms of legal cause (illah) or objective (maqsid), in addition to adopting systematic thinking methods for the student, which are commensurate with the form and content of the available knowledge through the topics they study in Fiqh and its Foundations. Through this methodology, students in this department can access old sources and learn the methodologies of early jurists in deriving rulings (Istinbat al-Ahkam) and extrapolating cases (Takhrij al-Masail) according to specific parameters. It is also necessary to consult modern references and books authored in our current era in the same specialization. About the Department
